Board & Ad Hoc Committee Openings

The Board of Supervisors is supported by a variety of boards and committees that help fulfill its legal and legislative responsibilities. These groups are established to address specific Township matters and to comply with Pennsylvania law. Each board and committee has a unique role and is made up of dedicated residents of Mount Joy Township. Current Openings —

Writer for Newsletter

We need articles of interest about the township for our quarterly newsletter. Many topics to pick from, history, upcoming events, informational. Short or long that residents would find informational.

Teacher or teacher’s aide at Mud College Schoolhouse

If you have a love for history and a passion for teaching (no formal experience necessary!), consider volunteering for the Living History program. You’ll be working alongside classroom teachers and can choose to participate in either the fall or spring sessions.

Auditor

There is currently one vacancy for a two-year term. The Pennsylvania Second Class Township Code requires the election of a 3-member Board of Auditors, each serving 6-year terms. The primary function of the Board of Auditors is to set compensation for the current year’s township supervisors employed by the township in staff positions.

Meeting and Technology Aide

(Part Time, evenings)

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to keep your skills sharp while contributing to your community? Join us as a Meeting and Technology Aide and play a key role in managing township meetings! This flexible position requires just one to three evenings per month, offering the perfect balance for someone looking to work part-time.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for running Zoom meetings, recording board votes, managing meeting technology, editing video, uploading to YouTube, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. If you’re tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting your local community, we’d love to have you on our team!
