Mount Joy Township Comprehensive Plan Update – Open House Thursday, June 25, 2026 5–7 p.m.
Mount Joy Township is pleased to announce the start of an update to the Township’s Comprehensive Plan. This important planning document serves as a guide for the future growth, development, and preservation of our community over the next 10 years. A Comprehensive Plan is not a regulatory document; rather, it serves as a roadmap to help guide future decisions made by Township officials regarding land use, infrastructure, community development, and the preservation of Mount Joy Township’s rural character and natural resources.
The Comprehensive Plan examines a wide range of topics, including land use, transportation, housing, economic development, parks and recreation, agriculture, environmental resources, and community services. The update will provide an opportunity to evaluate current conditions, identify community priorities, and establish goals and strategies that reflect the vision of Township residents and stakeholders.
Over the coming months, the Township will gather information, review existing conditions, and seek input from residents, business owners, property owners, and community organizations. Public participation will be a key component of the process, and opportunities for involvement will be announced as they become available.
The Township encourages all residents to stay informed and participate in the planning process. Updates, meeting information, and opportunities for public input will be posted on the Township website.
